Fiber lasers are great for thin material.  Fiber lasers can be delivered through a small fiber allowing for a very small focus spot.  Small focus spot can allow for very small cutting kerf.  Since less material is melted the cutting can be much faster than a wider CO2 kerf.  The edge condition is comparable.  That said it only makes sense to put a fiber laser on a cutting system with a drive package that can keep up with cutting speeds.  Accuracy is often important in thin parts too.  Might want to check out the Cincinnati CL-900.  http://www.e-ci.com/lasers
